About Parents Rights Coalition
Founded in 1995 in Massachusetts, Parents Rights Coalition is now active in over a dozen states across America.
Our first big victory was in 1996. We wrote a bill for the Massachusetts Legislature on parental notification, to allow parents to opt-out their children from certain sensitive subjects. Most schools in the state were very harsh in not allowing that. Special-interest groups were strongly against that bill, but parents across Massachusetts got involved. It was a hard fight, but the Parental Notification Act passed the Legislature and was signed into law by Gov. Bill Weld, as Ch. 71 Sec. 32a of the Massachusetts General Laws. It is still state law in Massachusetts!
Since then we have worked with parents successfully deal with school officials, school boards, and state legislatures across the country!
