This is the flag under which the Continental troops stood
against the British Army in the Battle at Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775.
Because pine was a superior material for masts of the British Navy,
Parliament banned Colonials from cutting down any white pine trees - even on
their own property! Thus, the white pine tree was a symbol of British
tyranny.
